5 THINGS THAT A CUSTOMER NOTICES WHILE VISITING A RESTAURANT

The owner of the restaurant may think that everything in his restaurant is great which includes the staff, decor and food, but to make sure that the customers come up to the restaurant, the owner might have to see their restaurant from the eyes of their customer i.e. they have to think what more the customer expect from their restaurant.

As soon as the potential dinners step in the restaurant, they get the first impression of the restaurant and as the old saying says ‘First impression is the last impression’, the restaurant owner should consider this as their topmost priority since if the potential dinners do not find the restaurant appealing they might not come back. Luckily, if you are thinking as your customer thinks, you might deal with the problem and come out with flying colors.

We have scooped some of the things which the customer sees while they cross the door of the restaurant.

THE HOST

The host is the first person to which the customer interacts. The host should be friendly, interactive, attentive and helpful. It’s in the hands of the host to make the restaurant’s first impression count in the eyes of the customer. However, if the host is rude and inattentive, it might turn off the customer even before they order their food.

THE WAITING AREA

The restaurant should always have a spacious waiting area while they wait for their tables. The host should make sure that they have seats to accommodate while waiting for the same. The waiting area should have a television or something to entertain their customers while they wait for their table. This will avoid their customers from getting bored while they wait for their table.

THE POWDER ROOMS

The customer might use the washroom while they wait for their table in the waiting area. They should be clean and hygienic else they will gross out the customers. If the bathrooms are not clean they will enforce the customers to think about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

SMELL AND LIGHTING

Ideally the restaurant should have the perfect lighting which is neither too dim nor too bright. Also the restaurant should be filled with delicious aroma of the food. This will keep the customer excited while they wait for their order to arrive. Also the lights should be perfect in such a way which makes their customer cozy about the place.

THE NOISE

The restaurant should have a soft background music playing. It should have the sound absorbing walls so that it makes the place less noisy when there is a lot of crowd in the same room. The customers like their food in a calm place and it is the duty of the restaurant to make sure that they place is appropriate regarding the same.
